What is Equity Funding?

Equity Funding is the name given to investments made to a company (unlisted – not listed on the stock market) in exchange for shares in that company.

Once the investment is made, the funder will own the shares he has purchased and will be entitled to see a return on their investment by way of:

  1. Dividend

  2. Sale of the company

  3. Sale of the shares
